Rep Program Highlights
Mississauga Southwest Hurricanes is Mississauga’s and one of Southern Ontario’s Premiere Softball programs. Our program consists of a house league development program that plays in the MGSA (Mississauga Girls Softball Association). We then transition our house league players into our Select Softball Program and they actively play in select tournaments within Ontario that are sanctioned by the OSSTA (Ontario Select Softball Association).
These two in-house development programs helps us to maintain a very competitive Rep Travel Program that is affiliated with the PWSA (Provincial Women Softball Association).
The MSW Hurricanes has widely been recognized across North America for its development of our elite players, and the competitiveness of our teams. We have been competitive within the divisions that we participate in. We regularly and routinely have sent our teams to Provincial and National championships in Canada via the Provincial Women Softball Association and compete in international tournaments in the United States every year.
The MSW Hurricanes compete against other Rep teams Mite to Junior and are affiliated with the Peel-Halton Girls Softball Association and the Grand Valley League for our league play.
At MSW we like to promote and encourage those players/families that show the skill level and aptitude within our House League Program to try out for our rep program in the Mite to Junior divisions. Our first year players at each level typically play at the Tier II level then graduate to the Tier 1 level in their second year. Our Tier II teams are generally made up of players who are new to the Rep program or are in need of additional development.
Open tryouts are held each year and only the best players are selected. Players from our House league and Select Programs are invited and we have had great success in adding numerous players each year from these levels.
