U12 Squirt  - White Finalist: MSBA 116

U14 Novice - Blue Playoff Champion MSBA 209

U10 Mite team - Enjoyed a great season and appreciated what they learned.

Mississauga Southwest Hurricanes House League Softball Novice Blue Champions

The Hurricanes peaked wonderfully in the play-offs with timely hits, great pitching and stellar defense. Mississauga Southwest beat a tough Etobicoke team on Saturday 9-8 that put them into the Championship game. Having lost to Milton previously, the Hurricanes had to win twice. Game 1 the girls came out on fire and mercied them 15-0 in 5 innings. Game 2 was a much tougher match, but still prevailed 10-4 in the grueling heat. Congrats to everyone on this team – they are true champions.

Girls Softball Squirt Select Team Provincial Silver Medalists!

There are a great group of girls playing on this Squirt Select team.  They had a big weekend playing 5 games.  They made it to the Provincial Gold Medal game against Etobicoke Chaos Sr. The day before Etobicoke beat them 15-1 in four innings, but Sunday was a different story. Alexis pitching her best ball all summer scattered 2 base hits and a solo homerun over 4 innings against the best team in the Province, but trailed 3-1.  In the end, Etobicoke went with the same pitcher (Provincial Tournament MVP) all 7 innings and we lost 5-1.

Congratulations to the Peewee Orioles and the Tyke Athletics - 2018 MSBA House League Champions!

The Tyke and peewee playoffs were run “tournament style” at Tom Chater on Aug 10 and 11. The tournament featured many very close games - 14 of the 23 tyke/peewee games played were decided by two runs or less - including two ties and three “walk-off” victories! The Tyke Athletics advanced to the championship when they edged the Diamondbacks 7 - 6 with a walk-off win (the winning run was a “bang-bang” tag play at the plate). The Athletics squeaked by the Tyke Pirates 9-8 in the championship, scoring with two outs and loaded bases in the bottom of the last inning with a very exciting ”come from behind” victory.

At peewee, the Orioles beat the Yankees 14 - 11 in the championship game. The Orioles advanced to the final by edging the Pirates - who had been undefeated up to that point. The Yankees advanced to the championship game on a three-way tiebreaker. The Yankees had allowed only one-tenth of a run per inning less than the Athletics and Pirates (all three teams finished pool play with identical 2 - 1 records)

Three Twins OBA teams participated in the MSBA Mosquito Select Tournament from July 6th to 8th at Tom Chater. Perfect weather, enthusiastic fan support and great action on the field made it an enjoyable weekend for all. Ted Steele’s Minor Mosquito Tier 2, Gerry Nebel’s Mosquito Select and Jeff Webster’s Mosquito Tier 2 teams combined for a 7-1-1 record in round robin play, with all finishing in at least a tie for first place in their division. Coach Steele’s team advanced to the semi-finals and Coach Webster’s team advanced to the final game, where they held off Annette to win the championship. Congratulations to all of our Twins coaches and players on your success!

Congratulations to the Diamondbacks, winners of the MSBA tyke house league tournament! The Diamondbacks edged the Athletics in a very exciting championship game. The Athletics advanced to the championship after finishing their pool in a tie with the Pirates. The calibre of play in the tournament was exceptionally good - possibly the best the MSBA has ever had at tyke house league so early in the season!

Congratulations to the Pirates, winners of the MSBA peewee house league tournament! The Pirates came out on top in a very well-played championship game with the Athletics. The Athletics advanced to the championship game after finishing their pool in a three-way tie with the Blue Jays and Cardinals. It was a very close, exciting tournament, with 12 of our 14 tyke / peewee teams finishing the round robin portion of the tournament with either a 2 - 1 or a 1 - 2 record.

The Bantam Twins 1 team battled all June 8-10 weekend long in Brantford, Ontario to capture the Championship. Coached by Bryan Bando, Vince Del Rosario, Mike Miocevich and Darryl Parent, the Twins combined stellar pitching, solid defense and clutch hitting to win the tournament. It didn't come easy as they went into extra innings to advance to the semi finals. The Twins managed to defeat the host team Brantford Red Sox to advance to the finals against Aurora. All players combined to pitch throughout the weekend and had just enough gas left in the tank to defeat Aurora 7-3 for the title. Congratulations Twins!

The MSBA Twins Bantam Select team went UNDEFEATED over the June 1-3 weekend to WIN the Vaughan Vikings Bantam Select tournament!

Coached by Philip Beckman, his team faced several Major GTA opponent teams. The Twins mercied 4 out of 6 games! Notable game was the semi-final against the 2017 Select Provincial Champions, the Oakville Whitecaps. Congratulations Twins!
