House League Coach of the Year

Alison Morley is the MSBA’s house league baseball (tyke, peewee, bantam, midget, junior) Coach of the Year for 2026.

Alison received a number of wonderful nominations from her Peewee Blue Jays parents – and players including;

Alison fosters an amazing environment of positive support and having fun. She also focuses on ensuring players move around each inning rotating infield, outfield or if someone wants to try pitching or catching, etc… Alison also has the little touches – walk up songs, different theme song days or even baking goods or treats for play of the game. My son has a ton  of fun playing for coach Alison!

Rookieball Coach of the Year

Congratulations to Omar Khalifa, this year’s MSBA Rookieball Coach of the Year!

Omar received several nominations including;

This was my son’s first year of baseball. Nervous, excited and ready to go but knew no one on the team. Through kindness, consideration and effort, my son has excelled from never swinging a bat to literally on a hot streak of hitting consistently the last four games….. Also has made new friends and really feels a part of the team. 

Dodgers are Rookieball champions for 2026!

The Rookieball Dodgers came from behind to edge the Rays 12-11 in a super exciting final. The Rays had the bases loaded in the last inning when the Dodgers secured the final out. The Dodgers also had a comeback win in the semi-final 4-3 over the Cubs. The Rays had advanced in another exciting semi-final, 7-5 over the Blue Jays. Of the 24 total tournament games played, 12 were decided by one run – or less (we had three ties and nine 1-run games)!

Congratulations Peewee Rays!

The Peewee Rays won over the Orioles in an exciting house league championship game that featured lots of great hitting – including an out of the park home run! The Orioles had edged the Rays 4-3 during round pool play earlier in the tournament. Congratulations Rays!

Tyke Orioles house league champs!

The Tyke Orioles won over the Cardinals in the final. The Card’s had beaten the Orioles 4-3 earlier in the tournament. The Cardinals had advanced by edging the Blue Jays 8-7. The Orioles squeaked by the Giants 13-12 in the other semi. The games were very close – and exciting.

18U Yankees MBLL Finalists

wrapped up another successful season with a berth in the MBLL (teams from Mississauga North, Erindale, the Majors and the MSBA) championship game. After back-to-back championships in 2024 & 2025, the Yankees fell just shy of the three-peat in 2026. Over the three years the Yankees were a combined 61 and 10. Well done Yankees!

House League All Stars Showcase

Our top Rookieball, Tyke and Peewee house league players competed in our first ever all-star games on August 8. The tyke and peewee games showcased some of our program’s best pitchers. The games were so much fun and such a success that we are already working on making this an annual event!

Consider becoming a certified umpire

All umpires in Ontario are certified by the Ontario Baseball Association (OBA), with local associations such as the Mississauga Southwest Baseball Association guiding umpires through this process.

There is no minimum age requirement to become an umpire. Umpire will require ability to travel to nearby diamonds, as well as their own email address to remain in contact with the Umpire-In-Chief. (Parents can be copied on communications.)

Hurricanes are GOLDEN!

Congratulations to our U17 Tier 2 Hurricanes team on winning GOLD in their pool at the Provincials!! After a full year of training it was nice to see their efforts rewarded!! Great work ladies!

Hurricanes Capture Bronze

What an incredible finish to an unforgettable weekend!

Competing against U17 softball teams from across Ontario, our Mississauga Southwest Hurricanes battled through every challenge and proudly brought home the Ontario Summer Games Bronze Medal.

Hurricanes Soar!

Our U13 Select MSBA Hurricanes had a great weekend at the Mississauga Majors U13 Select Tournament on July 11, battling through tough competition to earn a 3rd place finish! The team showed determination, resilience, and outstanding teamwork all weekend long. Congratulations to all the players, coaches, and families on a well-deserved podium finish. Go Canes!
