Umpires

MSBA Umpire Program

All umpires in Ontario are certified by the Ontario Baseball Association (OBA), with local associations such as the Mississauga Southwest Baseball Association guiding umpires through this process.

There is no minimum age requirement to become an umpire. Umpire will require ability to travel to nearby diamonds, as well as their own email address to remain in contact with the Umpire-In-Chief. (Parents can be copied on communications.)

Umpire Certification

In general, all Level 1 and Level 2 umpires will be required to attend an in-person camp, as well as complete online modules. Level 3 umpires will be required to complete online modules.

How to Register as an Umpire with OBA

  1. Register at https://www.registeroba.ca/
  2. Select “Umpires”
  3. Under Umpire Enrolment/Certification 2026 Level 1, 2 & 3
    Click on “Enrol Today”
  4. NEW UMPIRE: Under Create Account – Click on “Launch”
    RETURNING: Under Enroll to be An Umpire – Click on “Enroll Now”
  5. Complete the information in create an account. Umpire MUST use their email address connected to their OnDeck Account in order to gain the appropriate access. Click Submit
  6. Click “Enroll Now” If it doesn’t take you back to this page go to https://www.registeroba.ca/2026-umpire-enrollment
  7. Choose your Level and click “Enroll Now”
  8. Click “Select”
  9. Complete the iformation and click “go to check out”
