MSBA is home of the Hurricanes!

Girl’s fastpitch softball is every bit as exciting as baseball and our Mississauga Southwest Hurricanes young ladies consistently place strong within the Mississauga intercity league. The girl’s select program draws from the house pool to field competitive select teams.

We will provide a fun and safe environment for young girls and ladies. To create and maintain an environment which is not limited to just being competitive softball / fastpitch but a great experience for every player regardless of their skill level for them can enjoy.

We will provide support to our coaching staff that is responsible for teaching the fundamentals of softball. The goal is to provide a program that will encourage each player to try and reach their full potential and a better team player.

House League Softball FAQ Answered

  1. Each age group has 1 game and practice per week . Head Coach can/may request more practice time
  2. U9 , U11 , U13 and U15 ( half the season ) play games on unlit diamonds 6:30 start times
  3. U15 ( half the season )  U18 , U23 Lit diamonds 8:30 start times
  4. Potential Home diamond locations for U9 ,U11 , U13 , U15 – Tom Chater , Garthwood , Thornlodge , Thorncrest , Birchwood , JC Pallett , Sheridan Park , The Chase
  5. Lit Home diamond locations for U15 ( half the season ) U18 , U23 – Tom Chater , Sheridan Park , Birchwood 1 
  6. Practice / Game days per age group:
    • U9 – Tuesdays, Thursdays – 16 games , 16 practices per season 
    • U11 – Mondays, Wednesdays – 18 games , 18 practices per season
    • U13 – Tuesdays, Thursdays – 18 games , 18 practices per season 
    • U15 – Mondays, Wednesdays – 21 games , 21 practices per season 
    • U18 – Tuesdays, Thursdays – 21 games , 21 practices per season
    • U23 – Mondays, Wednesdays – 20 games , 20 practices per season 
  7. All House League games at all age groups are 1 hour 45 minutes – no new inning , 2 hour – drop dead .
  8. U9 – U15 play their games in a loop within the MEGS ( Mississauga Etobicoke Girls Softball ) comprised of teams from Mississauga North , Mississauga Lady Jays , Mississauga Majors and Etobicoke . Please visit each location website(s) for their diamond locations – too many to list per age group
  9. U18 and U23 same as U9 – U15 with the addition of Brampton ( pending approval ) in their loops 
  10. House league games start 3rd week of May and run (weather permitting) until the end of August . Practices start as early as May 1st
  11. Playoffs for U9 – U18 – 2 weekends in September – TBA , Playoffs for U23 typically last weekend in August – TBA
